A traditional Linie Christmas Aquavit with 41.5% alcohol. This aquavit has the classic taste of cumin with a touch of various spices, which makes Linie Juelakvavit an obvious choice for Christmas lunches and similar events.

The story behind the Juleaquavit line:
In 1805, the first barrels of aquavit were transported across the equator on a voyage to the East Indies and back. On returning, it is discovered that changing temperatures and humidity and constant rolling from waves give a significantly soft and strengthened taste, and thus the line akvavit was born. This journey still plays a central role in the production of Linje akvavit, as it has done for 200 years.

The success behind the product consists, like the normal Aquavit line, in barrel aging at sea. In addition, Linie Aquavit Christmas Edition is aged for an extra 16 months, which gives the product a rounder taste and a stronger barrel impression, where both notes of oak and sweet sherry characterize the overall taste picture.

Cask aging at sea is the very essence of Linie Aquavit, and any product launched in Linie's name must of course have been on a four-month long journey from Oslo across the Equator to Sydney and back.

The sea journey creates the special roundness and softness that characterizes a Linie Aquavit. Thus, Linie Aquavit Christmas Edition is naturally also barrel-aged at sea.

In connection with the development of the recipes for Linie Christmas Edition, head distiller Halvor Heuch always places great importance on ensuring that the result is adapted to traditional Christmas food, which is often high in fat and strong. The normal Aquavit line is suitable for the lighter and less fatty dishes, which is why the two thus complement each other perfectly on the Christmas table.
