Kung Fu Girl Riesling, Charles Smith
There are very few winemakers with such an atypical history as Charles Smith. Although he was born an hour's drive from Napa Valley, many years passed before he developed feelings for wine. He went all the way to Europe, where he became the manager of some rock bands, e.g. Danish The Raveonettes, before he also got a passion for another cool industry. All the good food after the concerts was washed down with copious amounts of good wine and together with good people, and that started something in him. In 1999, on a trip to Washington state's best wine region, Walla Walla, Charles ran into a local winemaker who convinced him to start and produce his very own wine range. Later that year he releases the first 330 ks. Syrah on the market.
Charles Smith is faithful to the old European traditions, so extra good time is spent on fermentation and maceration, and on the craft!
In 2008, Charles Smith received the award for "Best new winery in the last 10 years" and "Winery of the year" in the annual guide to best buys in Wine& Spirits. In 2014, Wine Magazine named him "Winemaker of the year".

Faithful to Germany's Rhine Riesling; Tingling and mouth-wateringly juicy style, with a dry classic minerality and straight acid structure. Mixed citrus fruits and yellow stone fruits, and when it then blends with the juicy, crisp and mineral, you are in the riesling's business lounge!!
