The Veneto region lies east of Lake Garda, down towards Verona. In recent years, this region has produced some of Italy's most coveted red wines. Here is a very stable climate with many hours of sunshine during the ripening period of the grapes, which helps to ensure very ripe grapes and thus wines with great complexity and high alcohol content.

The wine:
Made from Merlot (70%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (30%) grapes, harvested in the heart of the northern Italian Veneto region. The famous region has a long tradition in wine production and is particularly known for wines made from dried grapes.

Vino Legno bears the designation Parziale Appassimento. Parziale Appassimento means that part of the wine is made from grapes that, after harvest, have been in temperature-controlled rooms to partially dry out, and this happens over a period of several months. This method is also known from highly valued wines such as Amarone and Ripasso, both originating from Valpolicella in Veneto. The grapes dry out until an optimal balance between liquid and sugar has been achieved. In this process, the grapes lose about a third of their natural water content, and grapes with an intense concentration of flavor, character and fullness are obtained.

In the glass:
Vino Legno is a delicious full-bodied wine. The color is deep red with elegant violet reflections. The aroma is rich and intense with berries and a hint of chocolate. In the mouth, the wine is full and pleasantly persistent with a wonderful slightly spicy aftertaste.

Vino Legno is a perfect match for classic Italian cuisine but also goes well with a steak or a selection of cheeses.
