Cantina Vignaioli
“The sun makes the grapes delicate. The sun over the hills is our heritage”.
Cantina Vignaioli formulates the philosophy behind the terroir and microclimate in 4 areas:
Barbaresco Docg, Barolo Docg, Barbera d'Alba Doc and Dolcetto Docg.
The Cru field NERVO is located in Treiso, and has a pure south-facing exposure. From here comes a robust, colour-saturated and concentrated Barbaresco with great storage potential. Characterized with a great aroma from ripe berries and sweet spices. The grape produces an intense full-toned red wine with ruby red reflexes, which does not weaken with age. Part of this field is also dedicated to the grape Dolcetto, a robust dark and dense wine with good aging potential, with aromas of black cherries and has a markedly dry juice-strained profile. Cantina Vignaioli is a cooperative that expresses itself through Barbaresco's terroir with a determined stubborn and passionate approach, which also clearly shows through its members. When Vignaioli was founded by Mario Barbero in 1973, it had 13 members. They all had strong ties to the Langhe hills and the same desire to be able to make a living from their business and formulate their land and vines in the most beautiful way, and help launch a new brand. They bet on Nebbiolo from Barbaresco in the late 70s and started producing their own wines. The development has never stopped, thanks to the sacrifices made by the members. The facilities were expanded with state-of-the-art equipment throughout the winery in the early 80s, and in the 90s a new packaging department was added. The members have always been market-oriented with a great ambition to reach out to new markets. In 2014, a new building was built to house bottling lines and storage rooms.
Gradually, Vignaioli's wines have reached markets such as; USA, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Poland, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and Denmark.
