Pierre Brocard's vineyards are located in the south of the Ardennes Champagne region, in the Aube area of Celles-sur-Ource, a village in the Côte des Bar. The fields benefit from the many hours of sunshine, which is favorable for the ripening of the grapes and results in the soft and harmonious tasting champagne typical of the Côte des Bar.
The Kimmeridge limestone-based soil gives wines made from Pinot Noir grapes an incomparable finesse and aroma. Chardonnay grapes have ideal conditions to thrive fully on this terroir.
The vineyards of Celles-sur-Ource are located in the southernmost part of Champagne, on the hillsides and in the valleys around the rivers Ource and Seine.
It is located 30 minutes from the city of Troyes and then 2 hours from Paris.
The Brocard family is descended from the Irish Kennedy family, and has been growing wine since the 11th century.
It was the grandfather Georges who started marketing his own champagne in 1932 and was succeeded by Henri Brocard who maintained this tradition for Aubois Champagne and passed it on to his son, Pierre Brocard. The latter is the latest descendant of the long tradition of Champenois winegrowers from the Côte des Bar.
It was started by the grandfather, the father continued it and today Pierre continues to produce "Wine of Kings" following the traditional method he learned, but at the same time gives a modernity and chooses the winemaking procedures he has acquired through experience.
Today, he is able to combine all the improvements in oenological winemaking techniques to produce top quality champagne, characterized by his biological approach with excellent taste results.
Brocard champagne is therefore a champagne that is the fruit of the work of the family and through thorough and careful work, is among the best to reproduce the imprint of the soil (terroir) of the Côte des Bar.
