It is fully justified, as for the last 15 years the château has managed to make some of the best wines in Haut-Médoc. When owner Jean Gautreau bought the castle in 1969, there were only 5 hectares. vineyards, but thanks to visionary acquisitions of vineyards, the castle today has over 85 ha. of the absolute best vineyards in northern Haut-Médoc.
