Ch. Barraillots, Margaux

Château Les Barraillots is a fairly small vineyard with just 6 hectares of fields. The fields were bought from Château Palmer and Château Durfort around 1930. Today they are planted with approximately 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 2 % Petit Verdot. The average age of the vines is around 40 years. The wine matures in 1/3 new wooden barrels for approximately 18 months, to give it a harmonious barrel character. However, Château Les Barraillots is not classified and this is an advantage, as you can then get genuine Margaux character at an affordable price. It offers a completely classic Margaux scent with violets, spices, tobacco, licorice and fresh cherries. The taste is wrapped in ripe soft tannins, complexity, elegance and harmony with a good grip from barrel and fine-grained tannin.
