White vermouth from Denmark.
Den Klodsede Bjørn, with Naja and Frederik at the helm, makes this vermouth in collaboration with Heiko Hoos. It is made in southern Germany from the Gewürztraminer and Muscat grapes that come from his cousin's vineyard. The taste is phenomenal and the first always tastes like one more.
Vermouth Moderne is both fresh, sour and sweet, and then it is spiced with citrus, lemon verbena, juniper berries, coriander seeds and cardamom. The style is Italian due to its sweetness and spicy taste.
You clearly smell the grapes from which it is made, and at the same time you get clear notes of grapefruit due to the heavy content of citrus fruits. It is reminiscent of a mix of Mexican and Moroccan cuisine with citrus and dry herbs. In addition, there may be wine crystals at the bottom. It is a sign of quality, as the wine is very mineral-rich
It can be mixed with almost all types of alcohol to make manhattan, martinez, martini-like cocktails: gin, pisco, tequila, vodka, mezcal, etc...
Drink it in cocktails or simply with ice cubes and a slice of orange. Or as a simple highball with tonic or grapesoda.
