If you have only once tasted a mature Vintage Port in a top vintage, it can be difficult to imagine a better wine at all. And it is a paradox that such a civilized drink comes from such a harsh, unsophisticated but on the other hand spectacularly beautiful area like the Douro Valley. There are a number of styles, from a simple "Ruby Port" to the fantastic cask-aged Tawnies and to the king of them all, "Vintage Port", which in principle is only produced in top vintages. Each style covers different occasions and needs - but remember that in the end it is the manufacturer who guarantees the quality! But there is nothing new here...

Churchill's Dry White Aperitif Port
Like all Churchill Port wines, Dry White Aperitif Port is made according to the old traditional methods. The grapes are trodden with the feet in granite cellars in the Quinta high up in the Douro Valley. The grapes from each small plot are stepped on and processed separately. In the spring, the wine is transported in barrels down to Churchill's lodges in Villa Nova de Gaia. Here then begins the strict selection process, which ends with the optimal combination for each individual type of Port wine. Churchill's Dry White Aperitif Port is quite unique. Aged 10 years in cask, and almost completely dry in style, it offers fantastic complexity and length. A serious aperitif that will also work well with selected cheeses, salted nuts, smoked salmon or as an elegant gateway to a summer's day.
