A few years ago, large parts of the Eden Valley were covered with forests and wild eucalyptus trees. Today, many of these forests have disappeared in favor of agriculture, but you can still find large areas with these majestic trees that give a good indication of what the landscape once looked like.
Cool Wood's label represents precisely these fantastic trees that elegantly cast their long shadows on a beautiful misty winter morning. The trees are bordered by long straight rows of vines, beautifully finished by Thorn Clarke's cellar door.
Eden Valley is located relatively high, which means cool days and cold nights. This results in optimal growing conditions for the grapes that favor these cool regions, such as Chardonnay. Thorne Clarke is good at taking advantage of this and they produce, among other things, this fantastic wine with fine structure, lightness and elegance.
The color has a nice straw yellow hue. In the taste you find typical tropical fruits such as peach and nectarine as well as a nice creamy character with a rich and long finish.
This wine can be enjoyed with a variety of foods, such as fish soups, monkfish and shellfish etc.
