A.H. Riise XO Reserve, Port Cask Rum

AH Riise XO Port Cask Rum is another little masterpiece from our master blender. The rum is composed of some of the best and oldest casks that can be sourced from the rum distilleries in the West Indies and Central America.

In fact, up to 15 different rum distillates go into this rum. And with an average age of 20 years, it's not exactly a spring hare. All distillates are carefully selected by our master blender and create a rum out of the ordinary.

XO Port Cask Rum is aged in exquisite port casks
The gentle storage and composition of our master blenders make AH Riise XO Port Cask Rum something special in itself. But to make the experience even greater, the rum is stored in exquisite casks that have previously been safe homes for classic port wine.

The finished rum is aged for a full six months in port casks from the well-known house Cálem. It provides a unique cask finish that makes AH Riise XO Port Cask Rum a rum for connoisseurs.

Each cask is specially selected and hand-bottled individually. All the bottles are also labeled with an individual bottle and cask number and bottling date.

The logbook: Self-made is well-made
In AH Riise's time, it was a matter of course that the pharmacist himself produced medicines, ointments, potions and, of course, rum. The pharmacy was Aladdin's cave, where everything exotic could be bought and viewed. In modern times, self-production is a thing of the past. At AH Riises St. Thomas Apotek in Vejle, however, it was not many years ago that the pharmacy's own Spar 2 throat tablets were produced and packaged in small bags. If you wanted the pharmacy's own throat lozenges, a trip to St. Thomas Pharmacy needed. Today we only have the pictures left, neither taste nor smell. But they looked delicious.
