Lumos Wine Company was started in 2000 by winemaker Dai Crisp, together with his wife and business partner, PK McCoy. Dai was first introduced to the wines in 1986 when he helped his parents plant a 4.5 ha field in Wren, Oregon. PK was first introduced to Dai in 1991 when he was serving beer at a local bar. Dai began growing wine professionally at Croft Vineyard, where he developed his own unique, sustainable farm-to-table-human-friendly style of grape growing. Since 1999, Dai has managed Temperance Hill Vineyard, a 45-acre site in Eola Heights, just west of Salem.
Dai and his indispensable crew grow all the grapes used in Lumo's wines at three certified organic vineyards; Wren, Temperance Hill and Logsdon Ridge. It is the organic and sustainable principles that have driven Dai and his viticulture for over 20 years.
