Produced on the east side of Calistoga "Mountain", a little north of Santa Rosa and close to Healdsburg.
On this eastern side, the temperature is generally 10-15 degrees cooler than on the western side. This means that the ripening season is partly extended and that the grapes can be picked continuously when they are fully ripe.
Winemaker Thomas Brown (top-of-the-pop) has immortalized Maybach with Amoneus and placed the winery at the very top in Napa. Powerful but at the same time welcoming with notes of black berries, including blackcurrants, which support the dark purple almost black color in the glass.
The wine here has storage potential for up to 20-30 years, but has already developed into a top wine.
