The Priorat wine region is the story of a small unknown area south of Barcelona, ​​which suddenly became the hottest Spanish wine region among international wine enthusiasts thanks to the small supply and the enormous quality of the wines. The demand for the intense and beautiful wines is great in all export markets, including in Denmark.

The vineyards: The production of wine in Priorat is very limited due to tiny producers and very difficult conditions with steep vineyards that make harvesting difficult. The vineyard is located in a microclimate in a valley (but still at an altitude of 300 metres). It is protected from the cold winds by a mountain range, which means that the warm mistral wind can ventilate the valley and the vineyards.

The grapes: 100% Garnacha

Alcohol: 14.5%

Barrel aging: Aged in 300 liter and 500 liter French and American oak barrels for 9 months

Taste: The wine has a lovely cherry red colour. Aroma of ripe fruit of wild forest berries. Well integrated oak dish with nuances of chocolate and spices. Fresh and velvety taste with elegant notes of ripe fruit.

The wine and the food: Combines excellently with hearty stews, veal, grilled meat and soft cheeses. Served at 16º-18º.
