Château Bourgneuf is a vineyard of 8.8 ha, and has been owned by the Vayron family since 1840. The vineyard is next door to Château Trotanoy, one of the great historic Pomerol castles, which in turn is next door to Petrus.

With a perfect location on the prestigious plateau close to the old church, the grapes achieve a perfect ripening.

The fields are planted with 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc. The average age of the vines is 40 years, and a single plot is over 70 years old.

1/3 is aged in new oak barrels for 12-14 months, which helps to give the wine an elegant touch.

Very nice Pomerol which always performs at a high level. The soil's combination of gravel and clay gives the wine its complexity, finesse and strength and is thus perfectly composed for the Merlot-based red wines such as Bourgneuf.
